An Aurora couple has been charged with sexually exploiting a child after a video surfaced showing them performing sexual acts in the child’s presence.

The male suspect, 25, has been charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Child Under 13, a Class 4 felony (4 counts), and Obscenity, a Class A misdemeanor. The female suspect has been charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Child Under 13, a Class 4 felony (4 counts).

According to prosecutors, on May 7, 2026, a woman reported to Aurora police that the male suspect had sent her a video showing him and his girlfriend, the female suspect, engaging in sexual acts in the physical presence of a toddler-aged child. The woman had met the male suspect on a dating app, and he sent her the video through an online social media platform.

An investigation conducted by the Aurora Police Department and later transferred to the Kane County Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) positively identified the suspects as the individuals in the video and determined the video had been created on or about April 25, 2026.

On June 3, CEU investigators arrested the male suspect at his place of work, and on June 5 he appeared in court for a pretrial detention hearing. Prosecutors successfully argued for his continued detention while his case is pending. His next court date is Wednesday at 9am in Courtroom 313 of the Kane County Judicial Center.

Last Wednesday, CEU investigators executed an arrest warrant on the female suspect and took her into the custody of the Kane County Sheriff’s Office. She appeared in court Friday for a pretrial detention hearing where the state argued for her detention. The Court ordered her released while her case is pending. Her next court date is also set for Wednesday at 9am in courtroom 313 of the Kane County Judicial Center.

The Kane County Child Exploitation Unit is a collaboration of the State’s Attorney’s Office and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office launched in 2022 to keep Illinois children safe from sexual exploitation.
