A planned sales transaction of a motorcycle arranged through Facebook Marketplace went awry Sunday evening when the motorcycle was stolen rather than purchased.
According to police, at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers from the Batavia Police Department responded to a report of an aggravated vehicular hijacking in the 300 block of Orion Road.
The victim reported that a black and yellow Kawasaki motorcycle (Illinois plate MCYGM703) was stolen during a planned sales transaction arranged through Facebook Marketplace.
The victim described the offenders as three Hispanic males wearing black T‑shirts and black faded jeans. One offender had a red neck tattoo, and another had a black neck tattoo. The offenders arrived in a black passenger car, possibly a Chevrolet Cruze (unknown license plate), and were armed with a handgun.
