A 22-year-old Aurora man is in hospital in critical condition after the motorcycle he was riding collided with an SUV Tuesday morning. The Aurora Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle that was in the area of the crash.

According to police, at approximately 10:01am Tuesday, Aurora police and fire personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash at 75th Street and Commons Drive, where they found the rider in critical condition. He was transported by Aurora Fire Department paramedics and flown by helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on 75th Street when it struck the side of an SUV that was turning from westbound 75th Street to southbound Commons Drive. The driver of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Investigators are now seeking to identify the driver of the dark red/burgundy vehicle pictured above, which was observed in the area around the time of the crash. Detectives believe the driver may have witnessed the collision and could provide important information to assist in the investigation.

The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Aurora police have requested that anyone with information about this vehicle or its driver contact the Aurora Police Department’s Traffic Division at (630) 256-5330 or email TrafficDiv@aurora.il.us.
