A 39-year-old Naperville man was killed Wednesday evening when he apparently lost control of the motorcycle he was riding and crashed into a fence on North Naper Boulevard.
At approximately 10:01pm Wednesday, the Naperville Police Department and Lisle-Woodridge Fire District responded to the intersection of North Naper Boulevard and Plank Road for the report of a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
Officers found a black 2016 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob on the east side of the road lying on its side with heavy damage. The operator of the motorcycle was unresponsive.
The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District provided emergency medical attention to the operator of the Harley Davidson, a 39-year-old man from Naperville. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling northbound on North Naper Boulevard toward Plank Road when the motorcycle left the roadway before striking a fence.
North Naper Boulevard was closed in both directions from Plank Road to Meadow Lake Drive until approximately 2:15am Thursday morning.
