A subject is in custody in connection with a shooting in North Aurora Wednesday that police believe to be a targeted attack against a specific individual.

On Wednesday morning at approximately 5am, the North Aurora Police Department was dispatched to a business in the 100 block of Grant Street for reports of a gunshot. The caller indicated that they heard multiple gunshots, but that no one appeared to be injured. The shooter was described as a black male dressed in all black and that he was running from the business and towards a vehicle on scene.

North Aurora Police Department officers located the vehicle in the area and attempted to make a traffic stop, at which point the suspect commenced a long car chase involving multiple agencies that led throughout North Aurora onto I-88 towards Naperville and then back into Aurora. The suspect was ultimately stopped and taken into custody in the area of Barnes and Jericho Roads in Aurora.

No one was injured during the event and the suspect is now in custody at the North Aurora Police Department.
