The preliminary investigation indicates that Macias-Hernandez was walking in his kitchen when a gunman fired multiple rounds into the residence from outside. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

Aurora Fire Department paramedics provided emergency medical care and transported Macias-Hernandez to a local hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on January 16th.

Through the course of the investigation, authorities identified Barragan as the suspect in the shooting.

The investigation remains active, and authorities continue working to locate Barragan. He is described as 5’04”, 130 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and multiple tattoos on his chest, fingers, and left/right forearm.
