    Elgin Man Hospitalized After Shooting On City’s East Side

    An Elgin man is in hospital after being shot early Sunday afternoon on the city’s east side.

    On Sunday at 1:16pm, Elgin police officers responded to the 400 block of Summit Street for a reported shooting where they located an adult male who had sustained a serious injury. The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

    Preliminary information suggested that the victim and offender engaged in a conversation prior to the shooting. Detectives are actively investigating this incident.
