A Chicago man is in custody after being charged with drugs and weapons charges following an investigation by the Naperville police into crack-cocaine sales in Naperville.
A two-month-long Naperville Police investigation culminated Tuesday, January 14 with the arrest of a 23-year-old Chicago man who has been charged with one count of Armed Violence, a Class X felony, for being in possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony. He is also charged with two felony counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
Members of the Naperville Police Department’s Special Operations Group arrested the suspect after he allegedly sold cocaine within Naperville’s jurisdiction on two occasions. At the time of his arrest, he was allegedly in possession of more than one but less than 15 grams of cocaine as well as a loaded semi-automatic handgun.
After his arrest, the suspect was transported to the DuPage County Jail.
