A preliminary investigation indicates that on December 28, 2024, at approximately 11:39am, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 43W000 block of Badger Court in St. Charles Township to assist Southlake Police Department (Texas) in locating a reported stolen motor vehicle. Through further investigation, the stolen vehicle – a black Mercedes Benz G550 – was tracked by the registered owner’s GPS. Kane County Deputies then located the vehicle parked in the suspect’s driveway.
Deputies also located several other parked vehicles and trailers on the property, which included the following:
- Black Land Rover Range Rover 4.4
- White Tesla Model X
- Black Audi Quattro A3
- White BMW X4
Contact was made with the homeowner, the suspect, in the residence’s driveway, and he identified himself as the owner of all of the vehicles. When asked for registration and proof of ownership, he could not provide proper documentation. Through further investigation, the VIN information also did not match what was located within the vehicles. All vehicles were towed to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office until further investigation and a search warrant could be obtained.
On January 3, 2025, a search warrant was obtained for the residence on Badger Court and executed. During the search, the following were located: three long rifles, one pistol, a VIN press, VIN stickers, VIN rivets, a laser engraver, a cell phone jammer, five to six computers, three cell phones, fictitious vehicle paperwork, and financial documents.
While the search warrant was being executed, the suspect arrived at the Kane County Sheriff’s Office to speak with detectives. During that time, another search warrant was conducted on his vehicle, which yielded cash in various denominations, 12.49 grams of Cocaine, .99 grams of Heroin, a stolen BMW key, a Lexus key, burglary tools, and an electronic license plate cover.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office, working with the Illinois Secretary of State Police Illinois Statewide Auto Theft Task Force and North Central Narcotics Task Force, contacted the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding the investigation who issued the above charges.
Further investigation is currently pending with the Illinois Secretary of State. Further charges against the suspect are still pending.
The suspect is currently detained in the Kane County jail. He appeared in court on January 5, 2025, and was ordered to be detained while his case proceeds. His next court date is February 21, 2025 at 9am in courtroom 319 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
