Three juvenile males, ages 15, 15 and 14, are in custody after allegedly firing weapons illegally late last month.

The arrests come after an investigation into an incident that occurred on the evening of November 29, when Elgin police officers responded to the 1200 block of Amanda Circle for a report of shots fired. At the time, officers only confirmed that shots had been fired, but further investigation led police to the three juveniles.

The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office charged three male juveniles with the following offenses:

First 15-year-old Male Juvenile
– One (1) count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 felony)
– Two (2) counts of Possession of a Firearm/No FOID (Class 3 felony)
– Two (2) counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Class 4 felony)

Second 15-year-old Male Juvenile
– One (1) count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 felony)
– One (1) count of Possession of a Firearm/No FOID (Class 3 felony)

14-year-old Male Juvenile
– Two (2) counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Class 4 felony)

Two of the juveniles were taken into custody on December 18th and transported to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center pending future court dates. The third juvenile was taken into custody on December 20th and was also transported to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center pending a future court date.
