What authorities are calling a “physical altercation” at a home in Elgin resulted in the death of an unidentified man Wednesday evening.
At 11:12pm Wednesday, Elgin police officers responded to the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue to investigate a report of a physical altercation inside a residence. When officers arrived, they found an adult male who was subsequently pronounced deceased on the scene.
Authorities reported that the identity of the victim will not be released at this time and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death pending the results of an autopsy.
Authorities believe this was an isolated incident with no threat to the community, as the parties are known to each other. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
