    Fox Valley Veterans Day Celebrations

    Ceremonial events to honor the nation’s veterans will be held at several locations throughout Kane County on Monday, November 11, in addition to special services and collection events.

    • Aurora – Aurora Veterans Day Parade, 10:15 a.m. – Noon in downtown Aurora (43 W. Galena Blvd.)
    • Batavia – Batavia Veterans Day Ceremony, 11 a.m. Batavia Overseas VFW Post 1197 (645 St. River Street) 
    • Carpentersville – Carpentersville Veterans Day Ceremony, 11 a.m. at Carpenter Park Veterans Memorial.
    • Dundee Township Park District – Veterans Day Celebration, 11 a.m. at the Rakow Adult Activities Center (665 Barrington Ave, Carpentersville).
    • Elgin – Elgin Veterans Day Ceremony, 11 a.m. at the Heritage Ballroom (100 Symphony Way).
    • Geneva – Veterans Day Salute – 11 a.m. Third and State Streets. American Legion Post 75. 
    • Hampshire – Hampshire Veterans Day Parade, 430 p.m., steps off at the Hampshire Township Office (170 Mill Ave.) Hampshire Lions Club.
    • North Aurora – North Aurora Veterans Day Ceremony, 11 a.m., Veterans Memorial (Farview and Willow Way) 
    • St. Charles – St. Charles Veterans Day Ceremony, 10:30 a.m. at the St. Charles Fire Department (Fire Station #1, 112 N. Riverside Ave.).
    • St. Charles – St. Charles North High School Veterans Day Celebration Concert, 6 p.m. at St. Charles North H.S. Auditorium (255 Red Gate Rd.). The concert is free, but a ticket is required for entrance. For ticket information, call 331-228-6417. In addition, veterans are invited to a pre-concert reception beginning at 5 p.m. in the auditorium lobby for veterans and their guests. RSVP by Nov. 7.
    • South Elgin – Ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at the Village’s new Veterans Plaza outside the new Public Safety Center.
    • Sugar Grove – Veterans Day Ceremony, 11 a.m. at Waubonsee Community College Academic and Professional Center Room 110BC (IL Route 47).

    Other Events and Services to Honor Veterans:

    • Elburn – Veterans Lunch, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. at Elburn Lions Club (500 Filmore St.). RSVP by November 5 at 630-365-6315 or [email protected].
    • East Dundee – Dinner for Veterans – Nov. at 4 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Free dinner for Vetrerans and their family. Reserve a spot at EviteBrite.com ​
    • Big Rock – Veterans Honored, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Big Rock Park District Building (7S405 Madison Street). For more information, contact Cindy Nehring at 630-742-4275.
    • Huntley – Veterans Day Collection and Ceremony, Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Huntley Town Square/Veterans Memorial. Volunteers will be on Coral Street to drop off needed items. See the special events page on the Village website for more details.
    • Hampshire – Veterans Day Musical Program, Nov. 10, 1 p.m. at the Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library featuring music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. For more information and to register for the free event, contact [email protected].​
    • Elgin Community College – Thanks for the Memories: A USO Tribute, Nov. 12, 1:30 p.m. Elgin Community College. 
    • Batavia –  Free Admission to Emagine Movie Theater – Veterans and Active Military members – Nov. 11.
