Friday, September 6 | Aurora’s First Fridays Features Open House, Music At The Venue

On September 6, First Fridays will feature an open house at The Venue (21 South Broadway) where The Warren Douglas Band will perform live from 6-8pm.

Doors will open starting at 5 p.m. for an open house during the monthly, downtown-wide event.

Warren Douglas is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who gives voice to stories through country, blues, rock, pop, and folk songs.

“As a songwriter, I decided a long time ago I wasn’t going to worry about genre while writing songs. I let songs reveal themselves in whatever styles they want. The Americana genre spans many different types of music and I find that creative freedom to be really important. Whether blues, country, rock, folk, or pop, the songs I write tend to sound classic in style given the music that has influenced me.”

A native of the Fox Valley, Douglas has been performing and writing songs for more than four decades. His upcoming EP and album releases, “Broken Record” and “Last Call” will be available in late 2024.

Throughout downtown, the First Fridays event lineup will include more than 30 activities for all ages.  For a full listing of events and participants, along with a map, click here.
