Family, friends, and well-wishers gathered recently at the Kane County Judicial Center to bid farewell to former Chief Judge Clint Hull.
Hull retired after a 30-plus-year career as a prosecutor, judge, and, most recently, Chief Judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit in Kane County, where he served from 2019 to 2023.
During his leadership, Judge Hull was lauded for skillfully guiding the court system through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and overseeing the implementation of the Illinois SAFE-T Act, which dramatically reformed the criminal justice system, including the elimination of cash bail. Judge Hull also initiated the creation of the first Strategic Plan for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court and took pride in co-founding a program to help kids understand the consequences of misusing social media.
In November of 2023, the Kane County Board approved a proclamation thanking Judge Hull for his service. The proclamation ended like this;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Board of the County of Kane, that the Honorable Judge Thomas Clinton Hull III, is hereby recognized for his many years of dedicated and outstanding public service to the people of Kane County, and that the Kane County Board bestows its sincere thanks and appreciation for his wise counsel and; skillful, dedicated, and outstanding work, during his public service and notably, for his contributions to the people of Kane County as Chief Judge for the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit.
