A woman is dead after being shot late Tuesday morning after what police believe was a domestic dispute.
At 11:57am Tuesday, Elgin police officers responded to the 1300 block of Fleetwood Drive for a report of an injured subject. Officers arrived on the scene and located an adult female victim with injuries who was subsequently transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The name of the victim is being withheld until positive identification is made by the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
Detectives from the Major Investigations Division are actively investigating the incident, which is domestic-related, and have an adult male subject in custody.
