A Chicago man and two juvenile males are in custody after being arrested for burglary by Naperville police early Friday morning following tips received from the public.
On Friday at 5:53am, the Naperville Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Westminster Drive after being informed about a suspicious subject pulling on car door handles.
Upon arrival, an officer located three subjects seated in a vehicle, and while the officer was speaking with them they attempted to flee the area on foot. Eventually, all three were taken into custody.
A subsequent investigation led to the adult male, 19, and the two juveniles all being charged with one count of Burglary, a class 3 felony, and multiple misdemeanor offenses.
“This was excellent work by the responding patrol officers who were able to apprehend these subjects and by the detectives who conducted a thorough follow-up,” said Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres. “I would also like to thank the members of the public who received the Naper Notify message we sent out and called us when they saw subjects fitting the description in the neighborhood. This type of partnership is exactly what helps our department to protect this city and lets those who try to victimize our residents know we will not tolerate this type of behavior.”
