    Update: Injured Passenger Succumbs To Her Wounds | Serious Collision In Naperville Sends Passenger To Hospital With Life-Threatening Injuries

    Authorities have announced that a woman seriously injured in a collision at an Naperville Wednesday has succumbed to her injuries while in hospital. She was 88 years of age.

    At approximately 11:10am, the Naperville Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the intersection of 95th Street and Plainfield/Naperville Road for a crash involving two vehicles.

    The initial investigation indicated that a white 2019 Chrysler Pacifica was traveling southbound on Plainfield/Naperville Road and into the intersection at 95th Street. A blue 2007 Dodge Caravan was traveling northbound on Plainfield/Naperville Road and attempted to turn left onto westbound 95th Street. Both vans collided in the intersection.

    The driver of the Dodge Caravan was transported to a local hospital with apparent minor injuries. The passenger from the Dodge Caravan was transported to a local hospital where she was subsequently pronounced deceased.

    Due to the nature of the crash, traffic crash reconstruction specialists from the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to the scene to investigate. Portions of Plainfield/Naperville Road and 95th Street were closed until approximately 3:30 p.m. due to the investigation.
