A 54-year-old Elgin man has been charged with firearms violations and resisting arrest after a shooting incident Tuesday evening.
It is the eleventh shots fired incident in Elgin this year.
At 10:35pm Tuesday, Elgin police officers responded to the 400 block of North Grove Avenue for a report of shots fired. Officers confirmed that shots had been fired and took a subject into custody at the scene.
After further investigation, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office charged the subject with two counts of Possession of a firearm without a FOID (Class 3 felony); Reckless Discharge of a firearm (Class 4 felony); and Resisting a peace officer causing injury (Class 4 felony).
The subject was transported to the Kane County Jail on Wednesday for a pre-trial detention hearing where the Judge ordered him to be released pending a future court date.
