Wine selections available at local wine stores and wineries in the Fox Valley area

Chateau St. Cosme Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2022, France – $18.99
A romantic value for Valentine’s Day lovers! “Blackcurrant, smoky bacon, cold ash, blueberry and lilac. Over time, our Syrah Côtes du Rhône has become a house classic. After a slightly lighter, fresher 2021 than is customary, this year reverts back to the usual style – a dark colour, captivating nose of black fruits with blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry and a lush, profound palate primarily focussing on the notion of fruit. All of this revolves around a truly assertive Rhone style with abundant yet fine, supple tannins and good salinity. I don’t design this wine for cellaring but it just so happens that it matures very well. Recent blind tastings of our 2008s, 2009s and 2010s were more reminiscent of a Saint Joseph than a Côtes du Rhône. Being able to take you by surprise with a wine at this price is our unfailing mission, and one that is an inherent part of Saint Cosme. There are no secrets, just good craftsmanship, a commitment and a passion for what we do. Saint Cosme’s Syrah Côtes du Rhône is a real wine for friends.” – Winery Notes.

    St. Charles Gnome
Our St. Charles Gnome Red Wine features a floral and sweet balsamic nose, with notes of cherries, chocolate, and spice through the finish. This medium bodied red has the perfect balance of soft tannins and bold acidity with a very light oak structure. This bold yet fruity wine is very food friendly. Tomato based Italian pasta or pizza dishes will shine when paired!

2022 Masseria Borgo Dei Trulli Negroamaro, Italy
“The wine exhibits a deep red color with violet undertones, presenting enticing aromas of plums, wild strawberries, and black pepper. Its palate is robust, featuring notes of licorice and nutmeg, complemented by well-balanced tannins that lead to a lingering and enduring finish.” Take home price: $17.98.

    2022 Blaufränkisch – $33 Bottle
2022 Dan Berger International Silver Winner and 2022 Jefferson Cup Invitational Silver Winner
With nods in the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal and a Jefferson Cup top prize, Blaufränkisch has become one of the wines that LFC has become best known for. This thinner fleshed red varietal takes nicely to our milder climate, and transforms into a medium-bodied red with dark berry notes and a characteristic black pepper finish.
