A 51-year-old Glendale Heights man has been arrested in relation to a stabbing that occurred during a road rage incident Elgin in late January.
This week, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office charged the suspect with the following:
- Vehicular Invasion (Class 1 Felony)
- Aggravated Battery causing great bodily harm (Class 3 Felony)
- Aggravated Battery with the use of a deadly weapon (Class 3 Felony)
- Aggravated Battery in a public place (Class 3 Felony)
- Criminal Trespass to a vehicle (Class A Misdemeanor)
Elgin police officers were summoned to Sherman Hospital on the of January 23 to investigate an adult male stabbing victim being treated for non-life threatening injuries. It was determined that the man’s wounds were the result of a traffic altercation involving another adult male that occurred near Randall Road and Fox Lane.
The second participant was located and had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, for which he was treated at a local hospital.
Following an investigation by detectives from Elgin’s Major Investigations Division, an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect who turned himself in at the Elgin Police Department on January 31st.
He was transported to the Kane County Jail today for a pre-trial detention hearing where the Judge ordered him to be released pending a future court date.
