A home in Batavia was broken into and robbed during the overnight hours Monday while residents slept in their beds.
At 8:11am Tuesday morning, Batavia Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Towne Avenue for a report of a residential burglary. The preliminary investigation indicates that the offender(s) forced entry into the home sometime during the overnight hours. Numerous rooms within the home were ransacked and some valuables were taken.
Residents in the home were asleep during this incident and no one was harmed.
The Batavia Police Department is requesting that any neighbors in the area with home video surveillance footage check for suspicious activity during the overnight hours. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is requested to contact the Batavia Police Department Investigations Unit. In-progress suspicious activity should be reported immediately by calling 911.
