The official Christmas Season is ushered in all weekend around the Fox Valley! Here’s a rundown of highlights!
Festival of Lights At Cosley Zoo Begins November 24
A winter visit to Cosley Zoo is a Christmas family tradition . The zoo is transformed into a winter wonderland with thousands of twinkling lights, an amazing selection of Christmas trees, wreaths and greenery, hot chocolate and an unique assortment of holiday gifts in the Wild Side Gift Shop.
Stroll through the brilliantly-lit property featuring 20,000+ twinkling lights and a herd of whimsical lighted animal figures. Warm up with some hot chocolate while perusing the Wild Side gift shop for a great selection of unique holiday gifts. All proceeds from this event benefit Cosley Zoo.
Don’t Miss The St. Charles Holiday Homecoming and Annual Electric Christmas Parade
The St. Charles Holiday Homecoming will be back this year and better than ever, including the annual Electric Christmas Parade.
Lighting of the Lights will be at 5pm on Friday, November 24th. Come and celebrate the lighting of the city’s lights while kicking-off the holiday season with the community! Even Santa will be there to meet and take pictures with everyone after the ceremony!
On Saturday, November 25th at 10am, there will be a free showing of the movie “Home Alone” at the Arcada Theatre. The doors for the movie open at 9am, and snacks can be purchased from the lobby.
At 5:30pm, the ever-popular Electric Christmas Parade will commence. The parade steps off at 6th Street and will travel down Main Street to conclude at 4th Avenue. The parade will feature holiday music, over 60 magical entries, and an appearance from the North Pole’s most famous resident: Santa Claus.
Experience the magic of Batavia with the Celebration of Lights Festival, Sunday, November 26 from 5pm to 7pm at the Batavia Riverwalk.
Hayrides, holiday craft activities, old-fashioned ornament-making, a community sing-a-long, ceremonial tree lighting, a visit with Santa, story hour and the ever-popular Christmas Tree Lane!

One of the largest free outdoor drive-through holiday light displays in Northern Illinois, the Aurora Festival of Lights, returns for its 15th year starting Saturday, November 25 with dazzling displays that will delight both adults and children.
Elgin Christmas Tree Lighting In Downtown Elgin
Residents and visitors gather at Festival Park (132 S. Grove Avenue) to view the annual tree lighting ceremony where Mayor Kaptain, members of City Council, and Santa turn on the holiday tree lights. The 2023 Tree Lighting Ceremony is set to occur on November 25th at 5:00p.m.
Naperville Park District is welcoming Santa Claus back to his Naperville Workshop at at Paddleboat Quarry Rentals at 441 Aurora Avenue in Naperville along the Riverwalk, where he will visit with families from November 27 through December 21.
