The annual St. Charles Veterans Day Ceremony will be held Saturday, November 11, at 10:30am, in Fire Station 1, 112 N. Riverside Ave.
The ceremony will begin with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by an opening prayer, remarks, a closing prayer, gun salute and Taps performance.
WWII Veteran Duane Stevenson, who is turning 100 years old on Veterans Day, also will be recognized at the event.
“On Veterans Day we gather as a community to say ‘thank you’ to our veterans for their selfless service to our country,” said Mayor Lora Vitek.
“At the City, we are proud of the fact that nearly 10% of our workforce is veterans. We have been recognized consistently by the U.S. Department of Labor with a Gold Medallion in the HIRE Vets program.”
