Changes are coming for Tri-City motorists as the Bliss/Main/Fabyan Intersection Reconstruction Improvement Project kicks off on Monday, August 21.
The project consists of a new road alignment, roundabout construction, roadway widening, resurfacing, lighting, drainage, and landscape restoration for Bliss Road, Main Street Road and Fabyan Parkway just west of Randall Road. The project will increase safety and traffic flow operations through the intersection. The anticipated completion date for the project is November 2023, weather permitting.
ROAD CLOSURE: Main Street Road will be closed to through traffic from Wyatt Drive to Bliss Road beginning the week of August 21st until September 30, 2023, weather permitting. A posted detour will be in place utilizing Bunker Road, Hughes Road, Fabyan Parkway, Randall Road, Orchard Road, Tanner Road and Healy Road. While closed to through traffic, this section of road will remain open to local traffic only.
This road closure will expedite construction, allow crews better access to the site while protecting the public by distancing them from the work and is part of the continued construction for the project.
ROAD OPENING: Fabyan Parkway Southbound will open from Hughes Road to Main Street Road beginning the week of August 21st. There will be no access to Northbound Fabyan Parkway at Main Street Road.
Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work areas, consider alternate routes and expect additional commute time. Motorists are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering and leaving the site and obey flaggers and traffic control devices.
