Two adult males and a juvenile male were hospitalized early Sunday morning after suffering gunshot wounds at a party in Elgin.

At approximately 1:22 a.m. Sunday morning, Elgin police officers were called to the 1300 block of Inverness Drive for a reported shooting. Officers found two male adults and one male juvenile with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The victims were subsequently transported to area hospitals.

The preliminary investigation shows that there was a large party where an altercation occurred where shots were fired, causing the injuries.

Detectives from the Elgin’s Major Investigations Division are actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information that may assist is requested to call 847-289-2600 or to text a tip to 847411 and include “ELGINPD” in the beginning of the text, along with the message and/or tip information. Tips can also be reported at www.cityofelgin.org/crimetip.

This was the 35th gunfire incident reported in Elgin this year.
