The Sugar Grove Corn Boil will be hosting its annual summer festival from Thursday, July 20, to Sunday, July 23. The mission of the event is to promote a sense of community, provide local civic and charitable groups with fundraising opportunities, and offer affordable family fun with our tasty sweet corn as one of the main attractions.
The event will feature free movies, live music, a carnival, a 5K run and walk, a car show, vendors and fireworks. Go to https://sugargrovecornboil.org/ for the full schedule.
For over fifty years, the Corn Boil festival has been widely attended by not just the residents of Sugar Grove, but by those in the surrounding communities, and even some from a far. Each year the all-volunteer committee is committed to providing the best festival around.
A very important responsibility of the Corn Boil is giving back to the community. The four-day event provides local groups and vendors an opportunity to raise funds via the large audience. In addition, after our annual event is done and our books are balanced, we are able to share our profit with local not-for-profit organizations, e.g. Between Friends Food Pantry, West Town Human Services Network, Sugar Grove Park District, the Township Senior Center, Big Rock Park District, and many other important organizations. Over the years, many organizations have hosted the Sugar Grove Corn Boil beginning with neighbors, then the Community Club, the Village of Sugar Grove, the Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce, and since 2004, the volunteer run Sugar Grove Corn Boil, NFP.
