Man Killed In Early Morning Shooting On Elgin’s West Side

A man was shot and killed early this morning on Elgin’s west side.

At 1:04 a.m., Elgin police officers responded to the 200 block of South Aldine Street for a reported shooting. Upon arriving, officers located an adult male subject with gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Preliminary information received is that this incident appears to be isolated with no threat to the community.

Detectives from the Major Investigations Division are actively investigating the case and updates will be provided as they become available.
