Two Elgin men have been arrested in the shooting incident Friday evening that sent two men to hospital.
At 9:13 p.m., Elgin police officers responded to the 100 block of East Chicago St. for a reported shooting. Officers located two adult male subjects with non-life-threatening injuries who were subsequently transported to area hospitals.
After investigating the incident, Elgin police have arrested a 20-year-old Elgin man who has been charged by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office with the following:
- Possession of a firearm/No FOID (Class 3 felony)
- Three (3) counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a weapon (Class 4 felony)
Also arrested and charged in the investigation by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office was a 38-year-old man, also of Elgin, who was charged with the following:
- Two (2) counts of Aggravated Battery (Class 3 felony)
- Mob Action (Class 4 felony)
Both men appeared in Kane County bond call this morning where the Judge released the younger accused on his own recognizance and set the elder’s bond at $10,000 (10% to apply).
