Artist CJ Hungerman of Geneva expresses his passion for creating public art, as well as the goal of his work.

“Public art has enriched my life considerably, which is the reason I want to create public art in as many different locations as possible,” said Hungerman. “I do not compromise any individual’s ideas but find a way to combine them all together working as one. I strive to have all my public art relate to the people and location on a personal level.”

Along with showcasing the work of over 100 fine artists in 14 different mediums, next week’s 25th Annual St. Charles Fine Art Show will feature a live mural creation by Hungerman.

Hungerman has created many public art projects throughout Chicago, as well as in many other cities and towns including Pittsburgh, West Hollywood, and Elgin. Combining his abstract style with specific elements to fit the theme of each project, his work is not only vibrant but also welcoming, establishing a meditative feeling for any space.

The live mural creation, sponsored by McNally’s Heating & Cooling, will be on the East wall of Duke’s Northwoods, and the painting will occur all day during both days of the show.
