    Elgin Woman Injured In A Pair Of Shooting Incidents On Easter

    Elgin police responded to a pair of shootings in Elgin on Easter Sunday, one of which involved an injured victim.

    At 2:08am Sunday morning, officers responded to the 500 block of S. McLean Blvd. for a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult female subject with injuries. The incident was isolated with no threat to the community, and detectives from the Major Investigations Division are actively investigating. Updates will be provided as they become available.

    At 6:49pm Sunday evening, officers responded to the 500 block of Raymond St. for a report of a past shots fired. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that shots fired had occurred and that the incident had occurred approximately one hour prior to the police department being notified.

    Elgin police are actively investigating both shootings. Anyone having any information that may assist is asked to call 847-289-2600 or text a tip to 847411.     These gunshot incidents were the 7th and 8th in the last 30 days in Elgin, bringing the total to 16 for 2023.
