While responding to report of a battery early Saturday morning, Elgin police officers came across a man lying on the ground, deceased.
At approximately 2:18 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 700 block of W. Highland Ave. for a report of a battery. Officers subsequently located an adult male lying on the ground who was deceased. Detectives from the Major Investigations Division arrived on scene and are actively investigating the case.
According to EPD, at this time it appears to be an isolated incident with no danger to the public.
The identity of the male will not be released at this time and the cause and manner of death will be determined by the Kane County Coroner’s Office pending the results of an autopsy.
