A 22-year-old Hoffman Estates man is dead after rolling his car in Campton Hills Friday evening.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Beith Road just east of Illinois Route 47, in unincorporated Campton Township. The crash occurred at approximately 9:38 pm.
The initial investigation indicates that a 2006 Ford Escape was traveling west on Beith Road when it lost control and rolled for an unknown reason. Per a witness statement, the driver of the Ford was found outside of the vehicle and 911 was then called. Beith Road was shut down from Illinois Route 47 to Anderson Road until 1:30 am for the investigation.
The driver and sole occupant of the Ford Escape, Andrew J. Roycroft, was transported to Delnor Hospital and pronounced deceased.
Sheriff’s Detectives, and members of the Kane County Drone Team are continuing the investigation into this crash. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in this crash, and no citations have been issued.
Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by Kane County Drone Operators, Elburn Police and Elburn Fire Department.
