Scott Tipping has been a member of The Mighty Blue Kings, Backyard Tire Fire, Magic Box, Cornmeal and currently plays guitar with the grammy/emmy nominated singer/songwriter, Peter Himmelman as well as Chicago blues legend Wayne Baker Brooks, the supergroup jam band Sun Beard, 40,000 Headmen and countless others.
His last production project, The Leland Bluebird Sessions Vol 1 pays tribute to the historic recordings that were made in 1937-1938 at The Sky Club in Aurora, Illinois. The project features a host of national artists including Nora O’Connor, Robbie Fulks, Dave Hererro as well as local legends like Mae Koen and Mick Ducker.
The Scott Tipping Trio was a mainstay in the Fox Valley area for many years. The band, featuring Justin O’Connell and Matt Thompson, played all over garnering a following of friends. Since the pandemic, the band has been laying low while other projects and commitments have taken priority.
The band is looking forward to returning for one night only to christen in the new year as well as celebrate Scott’s birthday which takes place the week before. Patrons can count on an evening of good music, lots of energy and the usual mayhem that follows the band around!
