If the National Weather Service is right, the Fox Valley will get a White Christmas this year, and then some.
The Chicago branch of the NWS is warning that a strong winter storm will impact the region Thursday through Saturday, with potential blizzard conditions Thursday evening into Friday evening. While snow accumulation hasn’t been forecast yet, the NWS indicates that the greatest danger will be the strong winds creating blizzard-like conditions, with poor visibility and heavy drifting.
According to the warning, if possible, those traveling should begin to consider alternate travel plans. Bitterly cold air & strong winds will also bring dangerously cold conditions Friday-Sunday.
When asked about how this might affect his scheduled visit to the region Saturday, Santa Claus simply winked and gave a deep belly laugh.
