Montgomery Man Faces First-Degree Murder Charges In Shooting Death Of 35-Year-Old Wife

According to the Kane County State’s Attorney, a 46-year-old Montgomery man brutally shot and killed his wife at their home in Montgomery.

The man is now in custody charged with:

  • First-degree murder, 2 counts
  • Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, Class 2 felony, 2 counts
  • Possession of a firearm without a FOID, Class 3 felony
  • Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon/no FOID, Class 4 felony
  • Domestic battery, Class A misdemeanor
  • Aggravated assault, Class A misdemeanor

According to the prosecution, around noon on October 31, 2022, the accused shot the victim, 35-year-old Yajaira Gordon, his wife, once in the head, killing her. The incident took place at their home on Oak Ridge Lane.

The accused appeared Nov. 2, 2022, in Kane County bond court. Judge Julia Yetter set his bail at $3 million, with 10 percent ($300,000) to apply for bond. His initial court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 1, 2022, in Courtroom 311 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
