Welcome to our latest edition of Fox Valley Magazine’s

    4 FOR THE WEEKEND

where it’s not illegal for the Bears to score touchdowns.

So let’s get to it, starting with…..

    Isn’t Reality Scary Enough?

No, A Nightmare at West Main doesn’t involve a large-screen TV playing a loop of the daily news.

Although we fail to see the difference in terms of sheer terror.

Nope, this is a legit Halloween tradition which we, at least, kinda like because it involves the woods. The woods at night can be awfully scary, particularly in an election year. You never know when a politician will jump out from behind a tree and ask for a donation…

You Had Us At “Alien Autopsy”

    We mean, dang.

It’s not too many Halloween events that can offer an alien autopsy.

Seriously, how did they find a Packers fan willing to be autopsied?

(Sorry, that was beneath us. Oh hell, who are we kidding? Nothing’s beneath us.)

    So Creepy It’s Awesome

What could be more fun that chatting with some dead dudes?

(Sounds like our weekly poker game, but that’s a whole ‘nuther story.)

Seriously, the idea of wandering through the cemetery and coming upon “people” sitting on their own graves talking about their former lives is just so eerie that it works for us.

I wonder what the going rate for dead guy performances is? Do they have a union?

    And Finally…

    Something non-Halloweenie…..

    [Insert Beavis and Butthead sound]

Abbey Farms is a really delightful place in the fall. In fact, it’s so perfect as a classic midwestern autumn scene that it almost seems like it’s a Disney production.

(Or at least before Disney became so weird.)

Especially if you have kids, this is a can’t miss weekend jaunt.

We’ve given up on predicting the weather. The Weather Channel is always wrong. You’re on your own, folks.

If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.

Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.

Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH!  One more thing.  If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
