A juvenile suspect is in custody for writing threatening graffiti at West Aurora High School, according to APD.

No further information is available at this time.

“Get ready west, on 101222 I’m killing.”

That was the message scrawled in graffiti discovered at West Aurora High School.

The information was reported via social media and through Aurora’s 911 Telecommunications Center. According to the Aurora Police Department, the message had been circulating through the social media platform, Snapchat, and then shared on Facebook.

Officers from APD’s Bureau of Neighborhood Policing have spoken to witnesses who have contacted 911. Detectives from APD’s Bureau of Investigations are working in conjunction with West Aurora School District Administration to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident.

Extra-patrols will be conducted by officers as an extra security measure for students and staff. If you have any information regarding this threat, please contact detectives at 630-256-5500 or e-mail: tips@aurora.il.us
