Pedestrian Hit, Seriously Injured In East Geneva

A pedestrian was hit and severely injured on the east side of Geneva Wednesday evening, prompting the closure of East State Street (Route 38) for several hours..

The accident occurred before 7pm in the 700 block of East Street, roughly at the location of the popular Dairy Queen.

According to an alert from the Geneva Police Department, the pedestrian sustained severe injuries, and the Geneva Fire Department transported the person to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

The circumstances of the incident are unclear. The Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
