The Annual Aurora Greek Fest will take place September 23-25th at Saint Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church (1855 E. Fifth Ave, Aurora, IL 60504).
The festival officially opens on Friday, September 23rd at Noon. The Fest will be open Friday, September 23rd, Noon – 9:00pm; Saturday, September 24th, Noon – 9:00 pm; and Sunday, September 25th, Noon – 7:00pm. CarryOut will be open 5:00pm-9:00pm each day. Admission is FREE!
Come join the Fest and the community to enjoy authentic Greek food. Many dinners for all too choose including out popular Combo meal (Gyros & Souvlaki shish-ka-bob), Half Chicken, Pastichio, and many more. All meals come with a side salad and rice. Make sure to grab a Saganaki as an appetizer.
After dinner be sure to visit the bakery. All desserts are homemade by the ladies of the parish from recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation. There’s also the famous Loukoumades or “Honey Puffs.” The new recipe makes these treats a must-have before leaving the fest. Finally, grab an authentic Greek coffee or Frappe to compliment your desserts.
After the meal and desserts, join the fun in the Beer Garden outside, where Greek Beer and Wine will be served. Finish off your visit by sitting in the tent and listening to live Greek music.
During the festival, take part in tours of the church. Tours are available for all visitors to learn more about the Greek Orthodox Faith and Church.
