Update: The Kane County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the drivers involved in today’s fatal crash.

Driver of the HR-V: Isaiah Jadzak 27 years old Maple Park, IL

Driver of the Civic (Deceased): Marcus Jones 45 years old Montgomery, IL

The crash remains under investigation as Detectives work to determine if drugs, alcohol or distracted driving played any role.

A driver was killed this morning when another car heading westbound on Keslinger Road in Elburn unexpectedly swerved into the eastbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision that proved fatal.

This morning at approximately 7:15am, Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Keslinger Rd. west of Thryselius Dr. in Elburn for a crash with serious injuries. The initial investigation indicates that the driver of a tan, 2003 Honda HR-V was traveling westbound on Keslinger Rd. and, for an unknown reason, crossed the center line into the eastbound lane of traffic, striking a gray, 2021 Honda Civic, which was traveling eastbound.

The driver of the Civic was transported to Delnor Hospital with life threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the HR-V was transported to Delnor Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities are waiting to release the identification of the drivers pending notification of family. No Kaneland students were involved in the crash.

Kane County Sheriff’s Detectives are continuing to investigate the crash.

Anyone having any information about the crash is requested to please contact the Investigations Division at 630-444-1103.
