The painful process of closing an iconic business continues for CEO Paul Lencioni and Blue Goose Market as arrangements have been made to auction off all of its remaining equipment next week.
Grafe Auction has been engaged to manage an online auction of Blue Goose equipment commencing Monday, August 29. The public may preview and inspect items from 3pm to 6pm that day, and the auction will begin closing at 9am, Aug. 30.
The auction site indicates that “all the quality food service equipment in the store will be closed. Highlights include multi-deck refrigerated cases, bakery and deli equipment, self-contained refrigeration equipment, coffee equipment, meat equipment, frozen food doors, and much more.”
Over 1100 individual lots will be sold in this auction, according to the site.
Such an auction is typical when a business is shuttered, as proceeds are used to at least partially satisfy creditors.
The long-term future of the property remains unclear.
Blue Goose closed its doors in March after 90 years in business.
