A 26-year-old Aurora man faces murder and sexual assault charges in the stabbing death of 17-year-old Aurora woman Lizbeth Muro.
According to Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser, during the morning of Aug. 4, 2022, the accused stabbed the victim, 17-year-old Lizbeth Muro, twice in the chest, killing her. The accused and Muro lived at the same residence in the 900 block of Lebanon Street, Aurora.
As a result, the accused has been charged with:
- First-degree murder, Class M Felony, 2 counts
- Aggravated criminal sexual assault, Class X felony, 4 counts
- Armed violence, Class X felony
- Aggravated domestic battery, Class 2 felony
- Aggravated battery, Class 3 felony, 2 counts
- Unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, Class 3 felony
The accused’s bail was set at $5 million, with 10 percent ($500,000) to apply for bond. His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. on August 12, 2022, in Courtroom 319 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
