A 31-year-old Streamwood man is dead after crashing his motorcycle into a tree in unincorporated St. Charles Sunday evening.

According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 6:50pm Sunday, deputies responded to the area of Rt. 31 near the entrance to Vasa Park in the 35W200 block of Rt. 31 in unincorporated St. Charles Township for a report of a single motorcycle crash.   The initial investigation indicates that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Rt. 31 near the entrance of Vasa Park when, for an unknown reason, left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, Joseph Ceravolo of the 0-100 block of Autumn Lane in Streamwood, was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

Kane County Sheriff’s Detectives are continuing to investigate the crash and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. No citations have been issued at this time.

Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Management.

If you have any information about the crash, please contact the Investigations Division at 630-444-1103.
