The National Weather Service in Chicago is warning of expected severe thunderstorms coming through the Fox Valley this afternoon.
According to the report, scattered thunderstorms are expected late this afternoon into this evening, a few of which could be severe. If storms do become severe, damaging winds of 60+ mph and large hail (size of half dollars) would be the primary threats.
The NWS is stating that the most likely timing for any severe weather will be between 3 pm and 10 pm.
