Monday evening, the Geneva City Council unanimously approved a plan to develop a roughly 75-acre plot on Geneva’s east side just north of Route 38 between Kirk Road and Kautz Road.
The plan, first submitted in September 2021 by HIP VI Enterprises, LLC / C/O Hillwood, managed by the son of Ross Perot, calls for the annexation of the plot and a zoning change from rural residential to light industrial in order to facilitate the construction of 3-4 light industrial buildings.
During the meeting of the City Council, two residents of nearby homes expressed support for the project, citing the “transparency” of the developers in working with residents to minimize potential disruption in the area in terms of traffic and visuals.
The developer, Hillwood, was founded in 1988 by Ross Perot, Jr. According to its website, Hillwood is “committed to bringing long-term value to our customers and partners through real estate development, investments and public-private partnerships.”
