North Aurora Police Department yesterday issued a warning to residents to be on the lookout for the man pictured below who posed as a Village of North Aurora Water Department employee and tried to gain access to a home in the 400 block of Juniper Dr. on the Village’s west side.

The pictured man claimed to be a Water Department employee and said he needed access to the home. The homeowner refused. He was driving a silver vehicle, also pictured.

After leaving this home, he continued in a southbound direction.

Please be advised that Water and Public Works Department employees drive marked vehicles, carry Village identification, and typically are wearing uniforms or clothing with Village logos. If you are ever in doubt about the identity of someone at your door, ask to see their identification and/or you can call 911 or Village Hall at (630) 897-8228. Police and/or Village Hall staff would be happy to confirm the identity of anyone at your door claiming to work for the Village.

If you see this individual or know who he is, please call North Aurora Police by calling 911 or (630) 897-8705.
