On April 5th, 2022, at 7:05 p.m., a shooting incident took place in the 1600 block of Mulberry Drive in Elgin.
After Elgin police investigated the incident, a 30-year-old Elgin man of that address was arrested and charged with the following after a review of the facts of the case by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office:
- Armed Habitual Criminal (Class X Felony)
- Aggravated Discharge of Firearm-Direction of Another Person or Occupied Vehicle (Class 1 Felony)
- Possession of Firearm by Street Gang Member on Land (Class 2 Felony)
- Felon Possess or Use Firearm When on Parole (Class 2 Felony)
- Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon in Public – Previous Felony Conviction (Class 2 Felony)
- Reckless Discharge of a Firearm (Class 4 Felony)
The accused appeared in bond call yesterday morning where his bond was set at $300,000 (10% to apply). His next court appearance is set for Thursday, April 14th, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 211 of the Kane County Judicial Center.
