4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where masking and social distancing
have nothing to do with COVID, if you get our meaning.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Guns and Roses
This is the perfect weekend in some ways.
We’re combining two great American excesses – violent sports and Hallmark holidays.
Bring it on.
The Arcada is also combining two seemingly disparate streams of the American experience, in a way that we just love.
Gangsters and romance.
We love to point out that Valentine’s Day can be viewed from either perspective. And here’s the Arcada melding them together in one evening.
Gives new meaning to the phrase “kiss-kiss, bang-bang.”

Life Is A…Well, You Know
Here’s an opportunity to leave out the gangland stuff (although we have no idea why you’d want to – you unAmerican or something?) and focus on love.
If you’ve never experienced cabaret-type performances, we’d highly recommend giving this a try. It’s typically fun, a little sappy (in a good way), and hilarious.
And The Tavern Room at Two Brothers Roundhouse is a great venue for it. Enjoy.

Sugar And Spice
If you’re looking for something a little more risque’ (and we mean a very little – we’re pretty sure everybody’s clothes stay on), try out the PIAZZA with that special someone.
Burlesque is a lost art, but can be uproariously fun.
It’s another American art form that revels in excess and frivolity, so it’s perfect for VD (as we like to say).
So put on your spats and flappers and head on over to Aurora.

And Finally…
We had to provide a non-VD, non-SB option for you this weekend, and what better to balance out all the mushy stuff than hunting and fishing?
Last week we talked about the Chicago Boat Show and how it always gave us a peek at spring, and this event at the Kane County Fairgrounds offers the same kind of thrill.
If the outdoors is your thing, this is a great place to spend some time this weekend.

Don’t let Friday morning’s 40-degree weather fool you, temps are going to plummet into the teens this evening. Saturday and Sunday both have highs of 21, so it’s gonna be a chilly weekend. No precipitation is expected, however. As ever, plan accordingly.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
