A 23 year-old Aurora man has been charged with 2 counts of first-degree murder in relation to the January 15, 2021 shooting death of Fernando Carapia, also of Aurora.
It is alleged that on the afternoon of January 15, 2021, the suspect was a passenger in a vehicle that traveled to the 300 block of South Spencer Street in Aurora. He then exited the car and fired multiple gunshots, killing the 32 year-old Carapia.
The accused is in custody at the Kane County jail. His bail is set at $1 million, with 10 percent ($100,000) to apply for bond. His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Jan. 14, 2022, in Courtroom 319 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
