Suspect Charged With First Degree Murder In Shooting Death Of Aurora Man

A Montgomery man was charged with 2 counts of First-degree murder in the shooting death of 30 year-old Aurora resident Christopher B. McMorris last May.

Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser has charged 23-year-old Ladarius A. Parker with the offenses of:

  • First-degree murder, 2 counts
  • Aggravated discharge of a firearm, Class 1 felony
  • Unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon, Class 3 felony

It is alleged that early May 2, 2021, the suspect was attending a party at a residence in the 1700 block of Stonegate Drive, Montgomery, when he shot and killed 30-year-old Christopher B. McMorris of Aurora as McMorris sat in a vehicle parked in the 1700 block of Stonegate Drive.

The U.S. Marshal Service on Jan. 7, 2021, served an arrest warrant and took the suspect into custody in Freeport, Ill.

He appeared Jan. 8, 2022, in Kane County bond court. Kane County Judge Susan Clancy Boles set bail at $3 million, with 10 percent ($300,000) to apply for bond. His next court appearance for 9 a.m. Jan. 19, 2022, in Courtroom 211 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

The Montgomery Police Department conducted the investigation with assistance from the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, the Kane County SWAT Team, the Kendall County Special Response Team, and the Aurora, Oswego, Yorkville and Freeport police departments.
